South Carolina has approved Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health’s certificate-of-need application for a 20-bed hospital in Greenville.
The outpatient-focused hospital will offer a range of services, including specialty and surgical care, as well as diagnostic imaging.
The project is part of Novant’s broader strategy to expand its presence in South Carolina and meet rising demand for efficient, innovative care in the region.
“This approval represents a meaningful milestone for Novant Health and the communities we are honored to serve in the upstate,” Jason Bernd, senior vice president of Novant Health and president of the South Carolina region, said in a June 19 news release. “As one of the fastest-growing areas in the state, Greenville deserves expanded access to high-quality care close to home.”
In April, the nonprofit system named Ryan Lee as president of its Greenville market. Mr. Lee most recently served as president of Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville, S.C.
