Christus hospital CEO to retire

Jim Heckert, CEO of Christus Southern New Mexico in Alamogordo, will retire March 31 after a 47-year career in healthcare.

Mr. Heckert joined the hospital as CEO in 2008 and has played a key role in strengthening clinical programs, expanding services and fostering a culture of excellence, according to a March 14 health system news release shared with Becker’s.

He will serve the Sacramento Mountains Foundation through the end of 2025, the release said.

Reuben Murray, CFO of Christus St. Vincent Health System in Santa Fe, N.M., since 2019, has been named interim CEO.

Christus Southern New Mexico, formerly Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center, joined Irving, Texas-based Christus Health in 2023.
