Josh Kooistra, DO, was appointed president of Corewell Health in West Michigan.
Dr. Kooistra, an associate dean for the College of Human Medicine at East Lansing-based Michigan State University, has served in the role on an interim basis since December, according to a May 16 health system news release.
He previously served as senior vice president and chief medical officer of Corewell Health in West Michigan.
Corewell Health is a 21-hospital health system based in Grand Rapids and Southfield, Mich.
