Georgia system taps HCA executive as COO

Brian Evans has been named COO of Savannah, Ga.-based Optim Health System.

Mr. Evans brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to his new role, according to a March 24 Optim news release. He most recently served as vice president of surgical services at HCA Healthcare’s Trident Medical Center, in Charleston, S.C., where he led efforts to improve patient experience and physician satisfaction across multiple departments.

Before that, he oversaw strategic initiatives at Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare’s South Atlantic division.

In his new role, Mr. Evans will focus on operational excellence, strategic expansion, community integration and culture building, the release said.Optim Health System operates two medical centers, as well as ambulatory surgery centers and clinics.
