Kansas hospital CEO to step down

James Longabaugh, DO, CEO of Sabetha (Kan.) Community Hospital, will step down in mid-summer.

Dr. Longabaugh is relocating to be closer to family and pursue other opportunities, according to a March 27 hospital news release published by The Sabetha Herald.

He has spent 27 years with Sabetha Community Hospital and Sabetha EMS. Dr. Longabaugh was named CEO of the hospital and Sabetha Family Practice in 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile, and served as EMS medical director from 1998 to 2024.

“During his medical practice, as well as under his leadership, we have made significant progress in building a top line, award winning medical community,” SCH Board of Directors President Norm Schmitt said in the release. “We wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career.”

Sabetha Community Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital and provides home health, hospice and outpatient services.
