Montefiore taps chief pharmacy officer

New York City-based Montefiore Health has appointed Ruth Cassidy, PharmD, as chief pharmacy officer.

Dr. Cassidy, who assumed the role Jan. 6, will oversee pharmacy operations across the system’s acute and ambulatory locations, including Montefiore’s specialty pharmacy. 

With extensive experience in medication safety and patient care, she will focus on improving medication management, enhancing care coordination and implementing strategies to reduce provider burdens, according to an Jan. 6 news release shared with Becker’s

Dr. Cassidy previously served as senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer at New York City-based SBH Health System, where she developed the system’s first outpatient and specialty pharmacies.
