USA Health CEO to retire

Owen Bailey, CEO of Mobile, Ala.-based USA Health, will retire Aug. 1 after nearly 38 years in healthcare administration.

Mr. Bailey has served as CEO since 2016 and was previously administrator of USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Mobile for five years, according to a May 13 health system news release. He has also held a dual role as senior associate vice president for the University of South Alabama in Mobile.

Natalie Fox, DNP, chief physician enterprise officer for USA Health, has been appointed interim CEO.

Under Mr. Bailey’s leadership, the system grew from seven facilities in 2016 to more than 40 care sites in 2025. The system acquired Ascension Providence in 2023, adding 1,800 employees and 14 clinics across two states. He also established a spiritual care department in 2022 to support employees, patients and their families following the pandemic.

Before joining USA Health, Mr. Bailey served as executive vice president at Mobile-based Infirmary Health System from 2006 to 2011.
