Vandalia Health CEO to retire

Dave Ramsey, president and CEO of Charleston, W.Va.-based Vandalia Health, plans to retire in July 2026.

Mr. Ramsey joined Charleston Area Medical Center in 2000 and became CEO of Vandalia Health following its creation in 2022, according to a May 22 health system news release.

With more than 47 years of experience in healthcare administration, he previously held roles at Methodist Healthcare in Memphis, Tenn., and Baton Rouge (La.) General Medical Center. He also previously served as secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health.

Vandalia Health was formed through the merger of CAMC Health System and Mon Health System, later adding Davis Health System. The organization now includes 17 hospitals and more than 13,000 employees.
